Friday is amazing..
Ann Harding was 40 in this film – and still stunningly beautiful – in addition to being a great actress.
What a fun, patriotic film that showed those Nazis a thing or two! Granted, they were portrayed as far too merciful and patient. Great role for Edward who did quite a lot for the war effort on the home front. It was truly terrible having to endure Donna Reed in such a nasty role when all I care to remember is her marvelous sugar and spice performance in "It's a Wonderful Life" five years later. Oh momma was I envious of Jimmy Stewart (my favorite actor of all time)! She was the prettiest thing on two legs in the 40's for my money. Many will disagree, cuz the competition was indeed stiff! Prettiest actress of all time for my money? Grace Kelly! Once again, that two-timing Jimmy Stewart stole my gal (in Rear Window this time!) — not to mention the King of Monaco! Jimmy is just lucky that I was only knee high to a grasshopper at the time or I might have written him a non-fan letter (after I learned how to write)! 🙂
Dog "Friday" was a joy to watch!
The irony of Dog Friday being a German Shepherd was lost on me until after the film was over. Slow on the uptake it would seem.
OK, kill me, I'm evil – – – but bitchy Donna Reed is kinda hot! I know, I know, as Hypsan rightly points out, goody-goody Donna Reed (from It's A Wonderful Life and her TV show) is the perfect girlfriend / wife we'd be so lucky to have enduringly, – – – but for one nasty, 'no one's looking' weekend . . .
Or is it just me ?
This film is addictive… Love the humor,
Aww… billing Donna Reed before Ann Harding? This was good, I wished they'd done a series.
Excellent entertainment. Beats modern filth and vulgarity by country miles.
Friday deserved an Oscar.
Negroid, dogs don't ansah dohbells. Bug eyed melon farmer.
Future Oscar winners Donna Reed and director Fred Zinneman started out in delightfully awful B-movie fare where, for instance, a punch in the nose is guaranteed to render a person conveniently unconscious!
Now Mantan "Rochester" Moreland is dummer than a dog. How low would this actor stoop to earn a buck? Did he have no self-respect?
HUMOROUS!!!……Great movie, i need me a friday….hahahaaa!!
cast is good. mystery blind dick with top dog. moore is always good an funny.
