Typically racist as all get out, but whata great little movie!
Everyone in this movie is dull as dishwater except for Mantan Moreland…he was the real star of the movie.
No-talent actress. Shoot the screenwriters. Only watched because of Mantan Moreland.
Anything with Jefferson in it was good.
The Chief has a beautiful accent.
Always enjoy Mantan! "Don't y'all eat nuthin while I'm gone; it might be a Harlem stew!"
Monogram got a lot of playdates for their films in Negro theaters because of Mantan Moreland. He made a series of mystery-comedies with Frankie Darro in which they shared an equal partnership. He was always billed over Darro in these theaters.
I only watched to hear Moreland say, "Feets, don't fail me now". He didn't say it.
