Madeleine has two lifes: during the day she is a fashion editor of a New Yorker magazine — at night she is a party girl. She has a breakdown after the pressure at her job increases and her bad luck with men. With the help of a psychiatrist she quits the job and starts a new identity.

Very good film!!!!! I wonder whether the final scene at the airport was ordered tacked on by United Artists; it seems more natural to have ended the film with the scene before. But anyway, thank you very much for sharing this with us!
On its highest level, this film is an engrossing parable about redemption. A good mystery on another level. And a close look at a fabulously beautiful woman, Hedy Lamarr, who long before Elizabeth Taylor was called the "most beautiful woman in the world." A title she clearly deserved. High quality performances from everybody. Skilled hands crafted this movie in a way you could never accomplish today with all the money and all the special effects in the world.
