Interesting window into the movies of that time period..which lasted up until the 60s; portraying a black man with a stereotypical "yassa boss southern accent", especially when the character says he's from New York City. If it weren't so absurd, it would be offensive.
"Life, we are told, is full of a number of things." Well now, that's a profound statement.
