Based on the Thackeray novel of the same name; Myrna plays Becky Sharp, who schemes to attain wealth and position — only things don’t turn out so well. ….. I’ve read that it was shot in 10 days, and that feels just about right. ….. Cast includes Conway Tearle, Barbara Kent, Billy Bevan, Montagu Love, and Lionel Belmore. Screenplay by F. Hugh Herbert.

Oh man i wish all my friends will start talking like them haha
Thackeray, the moralist.
Interesting that a 1932 movie shot in ten days is of better value than movies made today with time and $$$$ budgets.
Wow. What a lucky find.
Very involved movie with the awesome fashions
and the superlative performance of the incredible
beauty of Myrna Loy. Thanks so much for making this
available to all of us
Thank you for uploading this…..grateful. 🙂
Thank you. Indeed a very unusual role for Myrna. An interesting interpretation of the original novel which was much more complicated and quite long. Although Myrna was only 26 at the time she still seemed a bit old for the part. The original Becky began about the age of 16-18. It was more Myrna's sophistication that made her seem older as was the case with many in Hollywood during the 20's and 30's.
Its always funny to hear a supposed English voice say "Scotchman" when its actually "Flying Scotsman" the Americans at that time always used the word Scotch.
Excellent copy!!!!!!!!
Might have been enjoyable if not for the crackling and hissing sounds!
watched this ~~~~☆◆
Myrna Loy is at the peak of her beauty here. Wow!
Thank You for uploading!  I fell in love with Myrna when I 1st saw her in the Thin Man Series. She's one of a kind.  Boy, this certainly IS pre-code with the girls wearing next to nothing in their rooms and Joseph walking RIGHT in on them!  Scandalous a mere 5 or 7 years later!
I don't remember my parents. I was just a little baby…when I killed them.
It's interesting to see this tale updated to the 1930s. It reminds me of the more recent book "Snow White in New York" where they had the Snow White story updated to the Jazz Age in an art deco New York.
so hard hearing gay young man and two different generations having two different meanings for one word GAY
Once I saw Polly dressed up in a 'French maid's' costume, I recognized her as Jean Harlow's blackmailing lady's maid in 'Dinner at Eight'.
Myrna Loy could try to sell me shoes for an hour & 13 mins and it would be delightful : )
Thank you for this movie!!! Loved it!!!
miscast??
she was great as a vamp
A brilliant adaptation of this classic W.M.Thackeray novel. Myrna Loy is absolutely brilliant in this. Pure genius.
smoke weed
why is it that they delete a lot of these movies
The opening credits remind me a loony tunes cartoon.
The brother is sure old looking. Myna Loy is too young and attractive to want that old geezer.
Splendid! Surprisngly engaging version of Thackeray's immense novel, boiled down to just over an hour and ten minutes…quite an achievement.
I really don't understand this film, but then, I didn't read the novel. They never explain what makes the Myrna Loy character tick. She does so many things that make no sense, even if she's selfish she has a bizarre way of doing things. It did keep my interest though and I appreciate being able to see it.
Thank you:)
lacked the satiric bite of the source material, but interesting nonetheless.
i wish they followed the story line in the book – its a better story line , and the poor girl wins in the end !
Lousy print, worse pun!
