From All I've read and seen about her she was not a lesbian. She was bisexual. She also was one of the first women in her field to stand up to the directors and studio heads and not let them bully her into contracts, or the casting couch! She was a grand lady and an incredible actress!
One of my favorite classic movie!!
Anyway you could post Miracle Woman from Frank Capra starring Barbara Stanwyk? That would be amazing.
Martha's look when Sam walks down the stairs and she thinks/hopes he'll kill Walter. That's why Film Noir is the best! Then the realization.
terrific, thx
Amazing, this picture was made 70 year's ago. Everyone in it is long dead, except Kirk Douglas. Wow, he is still alive!
Van Heflin is the sexiest man ever.
damm, barbara plays a great bitch, i ve yet to experience disappointment in any movie that has stanwyck in it……..some people have it, some don t ; this woman had it all……
oh, yeah, kirk douglas is in this movie also, and who doesn t like kirk ….pretty good story line and plot, enjoyed the flick, esta muy bien
I don't care for relationship films, but the drama in this is captivating. If they had made this into a soap opera I'd have been hooked….
BStanwick made the hard cold woman her character, but her earlier softer roles were equally good. I wish she had avoided that cold character. I grew up really disliking her in Bonanza.
Shows how old I am…;)
the people that control Hollywood r crazy
not bad. not good either. good acting. last picture show and gambler beat the piss out of this one.

"I wouldn't want him to to see me in the same dress twice" ha ha great witty line.💜
surprised at how good this movie is! Ty for putting it up!

-WOOD TREE BASINETT ROCKING LEAVES…….AND, THESE TWO COUPLES BEING WEIRD AS HELL.
It was a bit cheesey and some over acting scenes. But shit I loved every minute of it.
Ah, Liz! Some women have it, others don't. She had it in spades!!! Snuggle up to her while she plays with my hair, tuneout the world and just 'be.'
Thanks for posting!🙋
She looks like Maria Bamford's less troubled sister
good movie but didn't like ending
Everywhere you look cigarettes cigarettes cigarettes know wonder why half of early Hollywood died from smoke related diseases.
There is no Iverstown, anywhere ?
Lizabeth Scott steals the picture. And her scenes with Heflin are the best part of the movie. The Stanwyck/Douglas scenes are a hoot. So over the top. Stanwyck in particular really hams it up.
Classic movie at its best, Barbara Stanwyck could not be better this role and "Double Indemnity" WOW.
I love these classic films. Thanx so much for posting them for people who can truly appreciate them. If at all possible, please upload Dead Ringers starring Bette Davis as twin sisters. Again thanx so much.
I love Van Heflin's character. Sam tows the line well, being a bit on the shady, hustlin side of life, but ultimately not a savage like Martha and Walter… and he's cool as shit.
I enjoyed this movie; good acting by all and a somewhat believable story for back then – except for the flawed happy ending; Sam would have been questioned and told not leave town until an inquest by a "new" DA (or acting DA) was complete about the murder/suicide of his childhood friends who were for all practical appearances hunky-dory until he showed back up "17 or 18 years" later. It was a pretty good acting debut by Kirk Douglass. Thanks for posting!
Love the movie!

It's All About Van Heflin!
