Peter Lorre is the cutest actor!!!😍😍😍
what is it goodness I am the only Algerian in the Kasbah who commented on this magnificent masterpiece
Masterpiece
Lily Munster was pretty when she was younger 🙂
Good cast! Like Thomas Gomez, and Lorre.
The movie would be okay if it weren't for the stupid songs.
Tony Martin was first married to Alice Faye and in 1948 he married Cyd Charisse that lasted 60 years until her death. Tony lived to a ripe old age of 98.
The only real reason to see this movie is the great Peter Lorre applying his craft in this basically mundane movie. The 1937 version is much, much better. This movie would've played much better if they had done it straight as opposed to the insipid musical interuldes.
BOTH VERSIONS WERE GOOD.
THIS WAS A GOOD MOVIE. OLD MOVIES R THE BEST .
Many thanks for the upload! great to keep these films alive
I don't feel sorry for him.
Great Movie: Just a little problem, a copy of Pepe Le Moko (French movie, 1937) directed by Julien Duvivier, actor: Jean Gabin
I BUY a new pack of cigarettes and ask my wife to keep away from the room, before starting to watch a noir film.
It becomes a necessity.
Peter Lorre, man who was born poor, lived like king, and died poor…..sum of his life……
Don’t mess with Mr Moto. He’s everywhere.
I'm not sure that a musical film noire was really what the public was clamouring for, even in 1948. Tony Martin has a nice voice and wasn't a bad dramatic actor. Combining both in one movie though . . .
Katherine Dunham the Fantastic dancer, educator, and Broadway was amazing in this movie. I never knew about this. Wow, what a movie!
I enjoyed it, if for no other reason than to watch Peter Lorre. However, if that's not enough for you here is a great cut of "Algiers" which predated Casbah by about 10 years. Very witty dialog. https://youtu.be/K59fx1gcJwI
En español por favor.
Movie sucked hard core. If you like a happy ending don't watch it. It was slow too
Yvonne DeCarlo……. MAN!!!
Peter Lorre at his best
Music by Harold Arlen
Over the Rainbow (Wizard of Oz)
That Old Black Magic
Let's Fall in Love
Stormy Weather
…and more
Fuck, this shit was a good fucking movie.. Even in the 40s u couldn't trust a woman or a pig lol
At 00:42, see The cast, compare with 1938 version of The Casbah, follow Pepe de Moko….de Marco' s doppleshoue-in?
I had to quit this POS, 6:03
Can NOT STAND the screaming tour guide. I hate this movie and the director who spawned it.
Yvonne DeCarlo was gorgeous back then.
so the moral of the story is.. the cop will use the girl to his own personal ends.. play friends with the Local robin hood and .. robin falls for the girl.. post WW2.. women have their sort of freedom.. plus another girl plays off as more like the reason the Hood goes down.. but it was Peter L playing a Cop.. lol.. that does Hood in.. Hood did not possess the number of merry men to secure the lady from the Odessa.. but its a tight script and the bad guy er.. Hood has to go down.. and how does one . do that? .. remove them from their .. secure surroundings.. // thanks for the upload.. a Lorre Fan.. rare to C him as a cop.. lolol..
I just spotted a very young Eartha Kitt as one of the dancers at 1:19:25. This was he first film role and she would have been 21 years old.
remarkable!
Thx Chris Really appreciate your uploads
NOOOO THE ENDING OMG. LOVE THIS MOVIE THO!
Beautiful
Crazy cop shot him in the back. Things never change, do they?
I thought this was the one they made that made a funny version of Casablanca.
It's Algiers starring Charles Boyer as Pepe and Hedy Lamarr. Where the Pepe Le Pew cartoon character was derived from. In fact they say the same lines. "My darling, let me take you to the Casbah."
Pepelemoco… Perdón por los acentos
