Hilarious!!!! Thank you!!
young bob hope and betty H in silly slapstick farce too embarrassing to watch
I'm a big Bob Hope fan. Poor kid, you can see her heart wasn't in it "I'd hate to see somebody get hurt here… especially me". I recognize the voice of "Barney", he was the narrator of the "Wacky Races" cartoon ๐ I also recognize actor Raymond Walburn, as on of the husbands, from lots of movies. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to see this.
Eve Arden was too good looking for the plotline
Betty's voice is just delicious
@16:43 Too much singing. There goes 16 minutes Iโll never get back.
What a great supporting cast – Eve Arden, Zasu Pitts, Dave Willock ("Barney") – plus songs and contributions by Cole Porter, Dorothy Fields, Jules Styne, and Sammy Cahn!. I had to look up Porter's contribution, as I'd never heard of a musical with this theme by him. Apparently it was a hit on Broadway in 1941 under the title LET'S FACE IT, starring Danny Kaye (in the Bob Hope role), Eve Arden, Vivian Vance, and Nannette Fabray. The songs were pretty forgettable (by Porter standards, at least) and were eliminated from the film.
I just ran across this and love the link name โHutton Gluttonsโ. Well done! Whenever I watch a classic movie, I wait for Edith Headโs name to pop up in the credits. When I see it, I know it will be amazing. Eve Ardenโs wardrobe was the best. My favorite line in this is โMotherโs Day is over, Iโm out of here!โ
Why is sexy Eve with those old hens ?
I love Eve Arden !
Love Betty but…….a little hyper ๐ฎ๐
From what I understand, there was a stage play version of this movie with Danny Kaye in Bob Hope's role, and Vivian Vance in Betty Hutton's role. Many of the actors from the stage play made the transition to the movie.
My parents told me the war time movies got them by
Cole porter damn.
Mr. Hope closes the up door and says to Hutton, "We'll give you oats later". OMGNESS I am still laughing…that is so wrong lol.
Hepburn never looked that good in slacks!
Betty Hutton and Bob Hope. Could there BE anything funnier?
Eve Arden!
This movie is a crack up. Very good acting, and very clever and funny come backs. I really enjoyed their sense of good humor back then, something we have lost these days. Thank you, Bob Hope and the whole crew of you. I miss those times and years of yesteryears.
This was so funny…thanks much
Opening scene: the women at this spa are "regular" today, instead of fat!
The sister who played the piano had to be Jeanne Crain, but her name wasn't listed. She also played the piano. If that isn't Jeanne Crain she really looked like her just younger.
