The broken china is like the broken fragments of Conan Doyal's original works scattered thinly across these wonderful movies.
The most important lesson I've learned from watching old mystery movies is never-ever go into a room with a door which locks from the outside.

Copenhagen vases (at 52:40) are expensive. Even in 1944.
Does the whole thing warp and wobble? I feel like someone dosed me.
THE CREEPER, aka Rondo Hatton, the automatically made brutish villain. Great actor. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rondo_Hatton
This week I watched all of the BR/NB Holmes movies.
Miles Mander who played Giles Conover, the villain purloining the pearl, was also Judge Grisom in "The Scarlet Claw."
"You did put your foot in it, and no mistake Mr. Holmes LOL!!!!! So arrogant trying to prove his point, Never realized the man he is working so hard to convince everyone is going to attempt to steal the pearl, was right there in the museum as he LOUDLY explains the lack of security. Haaaaaaa!
Who are the 95 morons that didn't like this movie?
Awesome movie …I enjoy the old black and white movies.
I'm watching this in 2018 brings back memories from my childhood. The thing I'm not keen on is the way women we're portrayed so fragile that when they go through a bad experience they are tagged as hysterical and need to be sedated.thank God for feminist movement!!!All in all thanks for the upload
Jeremy Brett was a better Sherlock.π
Oh, ya, I forgot that this episode tiltls occasionally.
Interesting to view the different interpretations of the same story, quite interesting.
Another thank you from me. I have the set on DVD. When it was released on Blu Ray I bought it again. Rathbone is my favorite Holmes, followed by Jeremy Brett. I've been a Sherlock Holmes fan since I first saw a film with Rathbone when I was about 10 years old or so. I'm now 69. When I turned 13, I told my mom that all I wanted for my birthday was a book. The book was the complete stories written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle ( it's about two and a half inches thick). The book cost $4.95. Mom was thrilled that I wanted a book. So she gave me $5.00 for my birthday (which wasn't easy for her to do). I still have that book, and I've probably read it cover to cover four or five times over the years. It also made me an avid reader.Thank you mom.And thank you Jagged Relief for the upload.
I agree with you guys about the stabilizing and the shifting of the background..but I'm just happy to have access to these SH films.

Basil always had some "pearls of wisdom" at the end of each Holmes Mystery.
I like the idea of the pearl hidden in a plaster bust of Napoleon. That plot line is actually from a Sherlock Holmes story by Conan Doyle.
Thank you so much for this upload!βπ€πππ
Thanks for the upload. I've been enjoying these all weekend.
fantastic
I did not expect to enjoy this as much as I did.
Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce are the most convincing Holmes and Watson, hands down.
Rathbone did good considering he started out as a Shakespearean stage actor. And Bruce in radio. He had a great voice for the job . They are and always will be the best Holmes and Watson.
Well done with the Image Stabilizing. Idiot. Completely unwatchable.
THANX for all of your movie uploads…. God Bless!
getting sea sick from stabilization. ruined a fine old film.
hail Basil
I love this series with Rathbone and Bruce. I even listen at night with the lights out like an old time radio show.
It's fascinating that modern interpretations of Sherlock Holmes are much more violent but lack atmosphere or real scares. These old films are chilling!
