  1. Today we would call people in these old films thin, but actually it is us who are fat. Potatoes soaked in deep fat, frankfurters 90-percent fat, Brazilian forest bulldozed to give us meat 7 days a week, pigs so heavy their legs cannot carry them. Colon-cancer , proctitis and hemorrhoids are u n k n o w n among people e.g. living in the jungle who never got meat from a supermarket or fast-food. Proctologists are the best earning medical doctors , number of patients is unlimited.

  2. I thought the last third of the movie was sappy, like Mr. Smith Goes to Washington. The courtroom scenes were really stupid, like they were in a rush to finish the long drawn-out movie and just get it over with. I don’t consider this noire at all.
