  1. First scene, we see Don Ameche, real age 35, made up to look like a 70 yr old. Jump forward 40 or 5O years where he starred in 'Cocoon' as an athletic senior, in swimming trunks, who's found a secret to reverse aging, and NOT made to look younger. Perfect casting, as he was fit as a fiddle, & still had pecs & 6-pack abs in his 80s.

  2. This film hasn't aged a day. Except for maybe the fact that the period clothes are actually beautiful.

    I like the fact that the black butler has more manners, class, and good nature than the parents.

    I also love that he was (likely) having the affair. It gives so much depth to their characters, and all the others, and the dialogue after is perfect.

  3. So sad that Laird Cregar died the year after this was released at the young age of just 31. H e was an imposing looking man and could have had an amazing career in films.
