    I didn’t realise it was Eli Wallach playing the baddie until seeing it again after watching The good the bad and the ugly ..
    Buchholz who played Chico ,who turned down the starring role in a fist full of dollars on the advice of his agent was born in Berlin and was known as the German James Dean .
    They’ve all gone now to that great round up .

14. Movie anomaly: At the beginning of this film the "funeral horses" are coming back down the hill with McQueen & Brynner. The horse on the left clearing losses it's big black plume feather. The coach runs over it on the ground. A few seconds later they are all at the bottom of the hill. The big black plume feather is back on the horses head again. Brynner & McQueen must have stopped & put it back on the horse's head???????? 🙂 Can you dig it mon?????

    An excellent film, but this film is, probably, my all time favourite film. I could watch it on continous reel. Magnificent cast.

23. It's good , but the arabic edition " Shams El Zanaty" is more vivid and thrilling than the original one . As arabic of course I saw it before the magnificent seven , but without bias it is more vivid and its characters have built far greater, also the music of arabic one is an epic

Yul Brynner, Steve McQueen, Charles Bronson, James Coburn, Robert Vaughn, and Elly Wallace, one can only imagine what the production took to create such a classic, all of these professionals were real actors that worked for a craft, and then defined their craft particularly according to each one's caliber of understanding. Timeless is correct.

34. I saw this movie in Sri Lanka in 1965. The movie was based on a the Japanese Kurosawa's classic " The Seven Samurai" . I really enjoyed this movie for its moral connotations of violence used as a tool for good. Also I was impressed with McQueen's performance as the reluctant warrior.
