Country United States Language English Something’s Got to Give is an unfinished 1962 American feature film, directed by George Cukor for 20th Century Fox and starring Marilyn Monroe, Dean Martin and Cyd Charisse. A remake of My Favorite Wife (1940), a screwball comedy starring Irene Dunne and Cary Grant, it was Monroe’s last work, but from the beginning its production was disrupted by her personal troubles, and after her death on August 4, 1962, the film was abandoned. Most of its completed footage remained unseen for many years.

20th Century Fox overhauled the entire production idea the following year with mostly new cast and crew and produced their My Favorite Wife remake, now titled Move Over, Darling (1963) and starring Doris Day, James Garner, and Polly Bergen.

  1. Marilyn was in much better shape here than in The Prince and The Showgirl. She was in her prime here! Gone but never forgotten 💔

  2. It makes me so sad when they yell cut. That's the last time we will ever see Marilyn and it is such an abrupt end without a proper finish. She died two months later. RIP Marilyn Monroe.

  3. It came out that she was a scape goat for the misfits John Houston took advantage of the fact that she wasnt very well because he gamabled all the money for the movie away so had her put into hospital made a statement for exhaustion to give him time to save more 💰 I think same thing happened here at same time same studio Cleopatra most expensive way over. Budget movie ever liz Taylor who also didn't keep well and was said to be more unreliable than monroe when she wasn't I'll coz she was said to be a bit of a diva at times as amazing as she was but I believe in end studio couldn't afford to keep this movie going at time they used Marilyn as an excuse probably y dean was not happy then just before Marilyn death movie was going to get finshed with them both bk in so my guess they waited till they had the money again and made that all was fogiven and she was rehired people knew by then what to expect from Marilyn due to anxiety and physical illness they work round her knowing theyed get an amazing performance from her when completed they used the Kennedy birthday party as an excuse Montgomery Clift said she was the sweetest person and finest actress he'd ever worked wíth coming from him that's a compliment amazing I think they would have been best longlife friends if they lived on he was growing tired of Liz I think at that time as she was only needing him between husbands I think Kevin McCarthy and his brother said so she defo a scape goat so sad this movie could have been amazing her and dean in a movie together was way over due xx

  4. I think she looked amazing and this was before the days of Botox, lip fillers and all the other cosmetic surgery. She was a very talented actress and not the blonde bimbo some people wanted us to believe.

  5. Just noticed the dress pattern Marilyn is wearing @9:55 mark is the same you see Ana De Armas wearing in "Blonde" when she trips and has the miscarriage.

  6. Chronic depression is a killer & if her Dr. Had treated her correctly she would have lived!! She mixed sleeping pills, nembutal with champagne & people had intervened before, this was such a tragedy!! RIP beautiful Marilyn, you were to good for this world 😥
