“Anita, a wealthy and westernized heiress is controlled by her feminist aunt, Sita Devi who doesn’t want Anita to get married. When Sita Devi’s brother passes away, he leaves behind a vaste fortune to be paid to Anita. The only condition is that she must be married in order to inherit it. Sita Devi then hires an unemployed artist, Preetam Kumar, to be a temporary groom for Anita, for a few months, and then divorce each other. However, after marriage, story observes unexpected twists and turns. Will Sita Devi’s plan work? Will Anita and Preetam be together forever? Watch out the movie.

  19. Old movies were so progress for their time especially movies from guru dutt sir . I wish i was born in that generation instead of now where the majority of movies show women as nothing but side character like irrelevant showpiece just for glamour element. you wouldn't even remember them in movie expect for their random vulgur dance number im between .

  27. Just Finished Watching this masterpiece.Im just obessed with all songs in the movie.Truly there would be never such times again.Those times were golden period of bollywood.Hope we get a chance to see bollywood becoming gold again
