  1. Oh Hattie McDaniel…She steals every scene she is in!
What a fabulous Actress. I just love seeing her in film.

  2. Flawless cinematography, breath-taking apartments, big spooky house, BRODERICK CRAWFORD, that nightclub number by Constance Dowling (yeah, she's copying Rita Hayworth's Put The Blame on Mame, but she's still pretty spectacular) – this movie has all the noir elements! And how about Blanche Yurka as old Aunt Whatserface? Is she intimidating or what? The only other movie I ever saw her in was A Tale of Two Cities, in which she played Mme DeFarge. Can you believe she told a teenage Bette Davis that she had no future as an actress? This movie got pretty mediocre reviews in its day. Now, it's a jewel of an example of the noir "look" and worth watching for that

  3. Vera Ralston drew me 2 this movie (beyond it already being a 'noir); her modest hesitance, almost innocence, & many unique features of geometry set her far apart from the pack

  4. Really enjoyed this movie, with its intrigue and twists. The setting is great: Beautiful old mansion on top of a cliff overlooking the sea. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

  5. What a great movie! ????How is it that a lot of "just ok" movies become so well-known, when a little gem like this stays hidden so long. Will definitely watch it again. And thanks, Chris T for sharing this.

  6. I was impressed by some stylized filmography, and was dumbstruck by Ms Anderson's song and dance number. I never imagined such moves could be made in such a costume. The movie was corny and does not qualify as noir in my book. But, it was entertaining.

  7. May the Lord,Bless you and your family, love ones and keep you all,Make His face shine upon all of you and be very gracious unto all.Lord, left all up,Your countenance upon all and give you all peace that pass all understanding!!Amen !!thank you for the movie
