BTW, te character playing Gale Storm's mother also played Aunt Harriet on the Batman TV show!
Count me in
Edmund O'brien was a great actor. Have always been a fan of Gale Storm. She used to teach acting some summers at University of North Alabama. George Lindsay Graduated from there. He was quarterback and captain of the football team. She was a great gal. Had some trouble in life with the bottle but overcame it and finished well. She was from Texas and finished high school in 1940.
Finally got to watch a movie my grandparents always talked about on RETRO flix
This was is a Great classic movie 🎥 🎥 Thanks for sharing.
What a great movie. I love the fact that movies could be made with no foul language whatsoever and still be so entertaining. This is an art form that is lost in todays Hollywood. It is always a treat for me to find a movie like this that I haven't seen. 😊
Thank you! Great story and cast. I ❤ happy endings.
This was a great movie not great but nice movie well directed
Everything about these old movies is just…chef's kiss. The clothes, the dialogue, the acting, the script. Edmond is the best. Love it.
Get a chance see Mark Stevens in Snake Pit in 1948 ans Edmond O'Brien in Shield for murder in 1954
I always enjoy watching Ed O'Brien work. He's been in dozens of movies. I'm sure I haven't seen all of them but some of my faves are: The Hunchback of Notre Dame, The Hitch-Hiker, The Great Impostor and The Girl Can't Help It. Now here's something you may sound strange. If you forward to where the movie is about 51 mins. in, you'll see that the police car chase passes a couple of movie houses and a big sign that reads: 310 Public Auction with a caricature of someone who looks very much like Pee Wee Herman.
Can anyone recall this b/w heist noir where they rob a warehouse, large part of the movie is the heist, a key has to be remade during the heist, they eventually get caught, and ringleader sells out the crew? Mastermind tells Ringleader that "he rather had stayed in jail than ratted on his crew".
"Hey, girls, wanna go with us on a job?"
"Sure."
"You just wait in the car."
"Okay."
Good movie, thank you.
Prowl car cops on night duty romance a reluctant young woman who works for the department while in danger from a vengeful racketeer.
Is Dame Mae Fishman this one?
Nice tosee an uncomplicated script.😊😊
Great noir
This is a great film, a hidden gem! Likable characters, nice character arc for Edmond O' Brien's character! Great car chase! Subtle, non-melodramatic love story! Dramatic ending! Very satisfying movie! I loved it! Thanks for posting!
Refuse to watch idiots.
Aunt Bee from Andy Griffiths show.
Donald Buka aka Richie was a wild boy lol
A mighty big field of corn! 😵
I think every cop should be required to carry a tear gas grenade , why did they stop using gas, it works
Great movie ..Edmund o brain always plays great noir ❤❤❤
This was one of the unsung great films of it's era: Great story, likeable characters, even more likeable cast, great stunt driving & awesome shootouts. Edmond O'brien was one of the most reliable actors of his generation. Thanks for posting this gem!!!
No one ever goes after criminals like Joe Byedung and Hillary Klintoon

Gale Storm was a great actress and absolutely beautiful!
Great Movie 🎥 🍿
Edmund O'Brien…in a class by himself when it came to playing a big city 👮♂️ policeman.
Big Gale Robbins fan ! Catch her in " Race Street".
Everything came together in the late '40's early '50's to create film noir – the German expressionistic directors, the styles, clothes, cars, music. Black and white film. The tired, but great aging look of New York and LA at the time. It created what to me is the greatest period of cinematic history.
1:11:25 Jesus, talk about abuse!

Miss Mallory's mother just happens to be "Mrs. Mondello" of "Leave It To Beaver" fame!
That was a blast. Thanks for the show.
If you're wondering why so many of these old movies appear as good as new, it's because the US government put a ton of money toward restoring them.
Great cop movie! i loved it!!
That worthless cop should have had his ass kicked for slapping that woman around in her dressing room. What a pig. I know it's a movie but he still made me mad.
If you watch murder she wrote you can see Mark Stevens in it.I think he plays a reporter, great to see him.
I play mafia 2 so I think 50s music is cool
