  1. Love these Films Noir. Cops are either crooks or total incompetants. Lovers are only in it for the money. And the only good guys, for complete straight-faced irony, are the lawyers and building developers! What a stitch. Said the detective 57:30 to the lawyer who was doing the job the detective was supposed to do: β€œStop playing detective. It's strictly for professionals. And sometimes the game gets rough.” β€œThanks, I’ll try to remember that.

  10. Excellent Film. I enjoyed it. I was glad to see John Litel in a larger role than in the bit parts he usually Plays. He was always a good actor. The cast had a lot of future stars in it. The story, Direction, music score by R. . Dale Butts was Good. Thanks for the upload. Out.

  13. The old movies are wonderful for the great story lines, talented actors, classy ladies dressed in beautiful fashions, the old cars..the decor…it`s fun to go back in time…

    It does help viewers like us (Indians), who still have to struggle with the (wonderful sounding, but not always comprehensible) American accent. 😞

  28. Interesting that the actor Tom Powers (who played Harry Sheldon in this movie), played Mr. Dietrichson who gets whacked in the film noir titled "Double Indemnity" (1944), with Barbara Stanwyck, Fred MacMurray, and Edward G. Robinson.

  34. "Double Jeopardy" is I believe a legal term meaning that one cannot be tried for the same crime twice. So I was expecting a plot based on that concept. Maybe I missed it but I didn't see any hint of double jeopardy in this movie.

  38. Nothings changed. The cops arrest, charge, & innocent people suffer in jail & prison. No money for attorneys & you fry, die or settle for a lesser charge. They all make money. The corrupt "just-us (with $$$) system"
