House on Haunted Hill is a 1959 American supernatural horror film directed by William Castle. The film was written by Robb White and stars Vincent Price and Carol Ohmart. Price plays an eccentric millionaire, Frederick Loren, who, along with his wife Annabelle, has invited five people to the house for a “haunted house” party. Whoever stays in the house for one night will earn $10,000. As the night progresses, the guests are trapped within the house with an assortment of terrors.

This is so silly but good too
I watch this movie every Halloween. Boooooooo.
Black and white movies are always so much more haunting than coloured ones.
Can I be your 5th wife?
Happy
I had a really nice time last night π
I'm drunk
Talent π
I love Vincent price.
The art deco house that they used for exteria shots in this movie is the same house were Deckerd lived in the movie Blade Runner if not its very similar.
i met mr price once. perfectly nice and charming to his fans
Classic how could anymore would give this flick a π
Some trivia for movie buffs – the petite blonde newspaper journalist Ruth Bridges was played by Julie Mitchum, sister of legendary actor Robert Mitchum.
Vincent Price was the ultimate Alpha male – handsome, intelligent, suave and witty, it would have been quite something to know him personally.
His final wife the glamorous Australian actress Coral Browne was known for her great wit, and they were good friends with among others British playwright Alan Bennett and comedian Joan Rivers. Vincent and Coral must have been wonderfully entertaining dinner party guests!
Just don't make comedies like this anymore. Laugh a minute.
I hoping see Vincent prince in heaven
I am watching this here at work should be watching students but I ran across on hell of a movie from back in the day and i just have to watch Vincent Price is an outstanding actor. Only if they made more movies like this just clean and creepy
What a happy marriage.
One of my all time favorite movies π₯ horror of course
So Gothic and atmospheric. Scared the crap out of me when I was a kid. Down in the cellar when the old Hag appeared out of the darkness did me in !
The new film Escape Room is a modern day version of this film, almost everything is the same.
That's the Ennis House in LA. Recently listed for sale at $23 MM. https://www.savewright.org/building/ennis-house/
I was just flipping thru the stations one night alone with the lights off and started watching this as a lark. I mean I certainly didn't think a movie like this could scare a seasoned 21st movie watcher and then that old lady appears and floats out of the room and I'm like f— me. You had to peel me off the ceiling.
MAGA
Awww I love all the old movies!!! I met Vincent Price in person when I was 10 years old!!!! A very precious and sweet man!!! Thanks for the memory!!!! ππ
Who is still watching in 2019 I am!! One of my favorite actor's and movie.
Gehauhahagh, old-timey film gun safety starting at 37:45, now that's something scary
Price was paid $10,000 to star in this movie, but only because he stayed to the end of the movie.
"ONE OF MY FAVORITES" π
Who personifies the horror genre ?
Yes, there are many. But who is
that first comes to mind ?
Vincent Price.
Though Mr. Price is not in it, a movie that this reminds of is a
real nail-biter; a film called :
The Haunting. You'll like it.
One more thing that's kinda bugged me: every single time I've seen scary atmosphere in a film, the thunder and lightening is inaccurate. It reminds me of all of the screeching tires on a dirt road.
But it never really matters.
Not at all !
(dmetl) #273 – ghostly that I've been watching movies for 46 years n somehow this one slipped by me
spooky season, spooky movie
They used to look for women who really could scream thierbloody lungs out and then dub their screams with the screams in the film. honestly – just like they still do when they need it LOL
i love these movies as they came out when i was a kid, and i saw them on television – but – we certainly don't have heroines like her anymore!!!!
She just stands there. for pete's sake, move – run away from the rope and find something to hit with!!!! argh!! :}
Hello…I'm Frederick Loren…. LOVE IT!
When they say, "they don't make em like they used to", this is one of the movies they're talkin about!
Thanks for posting… I really enjoy your shows
2 / 10

Thank ya!
Please can some of you horror fans help me: back in the early 1970's when I was a child I remember watching a horror movie one Easter and I would love to know what film it was. It was a big old house with a sweeping staircase. On the steps of the staircase were hat boxes. As one of the hat boxes was knocked off a head fell out of it and rolled off down the stairs. I am pretty certain that the film was in colour. I thought it was a Hammer House Horror movie, but I can't find anything with that scene in. Thanks in advance for your help.
