The suave Don Juan Ricardo ‘Rick’ De Villa (John Bromfield) and his married lover Fritzi Darvel would like to take off together, but his lack of money prevents them from doing so. A chance encounter introduces Rick to the young, but terminally ill socialite Valerie Bancroft (Martha Vickers), in whom Rick sees the solution to his predicament. Rick sweeps her off her feet and they soon marry, although Valerie’s entourage are suspicious of him. Rick then proceeds to try and bring about Valerie’s demise so he can inherit her wealth and live the good life with Fritzi.

…"everyone has to die sometime"…!! really!!!
I havent watched all of this cheesy movie but I think the handsome devil may not be the only devil in her life!
Very good movie with a decent cast and an unspected ending. I NEVER would have guessed it. Thanks for uploading this!

I had a bad ticker once, then my watch stopped. Loved this movie. Totally love Martha Vickers, especially in The Big Sleep.
Thank you so much for sharing this film!! Great ending!! Good video quality, too! LOVE your channel and please keep up the fantastic work you do!! You are more appreciated than you may know!! 🙂
Well that was exciting. Really the guy was nothing more than a larcenous cad, planing murder to inherit wealth–and gets a surprise ending…. Suspenseful to the end.
Love these funky ol` Noir thrillers.
A great movie
Greatness
Where do you go shopping dressed like that in the daytime at 12:21? Walmart?
" I'd have dropped both if those earrings if I'd seen him first." Classic…
Why would have taken such a risk ,he knew she was going to die. Liked the ending.
good bye scum bag! Awesome ending!

These crackers were racist
We just hate White people always have and always will
A nice twist at the end. This concept is worthy of something better than its B movie treatment. No A-list leading man wanted to play the heel (Rick), is my guess. Steve Cochran, Richard Basehart, John Hodiak and Barbara Stanwyck or Joan Crawford would have been great in this. Good movie, as produced nicely played by the leads. Fritzi went on to marry Robert Stack and retired.
never seen a car stick it's tongue out before
"Too clever by half."
Real good twist. Not even the one I predicted. I love plots I can not figure out. Good show. Great writing, LOVED the movie. Thanks a bunch.
This was good
Great movie. Thanks for posting.
was in my teens in the mid 50ties – drove around in that sports car! It was powder blue. I sometimes wonder if the guy who owned it is still with us…..
These people drank and smoked so much I am surprised they lived long enough to complete the film.
this is the kind of movie that mature and smart people will appreciate, and thank you for downloading it, and lets forget about all the political nonsense and try to respect and get along with one and others.
I liked this movie. Thanks.
This is a remake of another story– quite similar, except for the ending that blamed the guy for a murder he hadn't committed.
