Miss Mitchell…didnt set out to write.aRACIST. novel…..its a LOVE story set in time of tbe. Civil War..period……one of the enduring and frustating romance…EVER….the servants..the soldiers…the families. The lovers…JUST HAPPENED TO COME ALONG FOR THE RIDE……No romance inhistory has caused such a stir… IT STILL DOES…and tbis "race"thing is superfluous……ridiculous….GET OVER IT….ITS A NOVEL/MOVIES….!!!!!
It's funny that back during World War II Black GIs were fighting racists overseas while also back at the homefront against Jim Crow and other segregation laws.
Wonderful actress. So much easier, then, to live.
Hattie!
Hattie was a belter! This vid offers a rare opportunity to see her display her musical talent. If there are more, I'd love to know about them.
Wow didn't know Hattie could sing! What a talent Love her! Great scene Want to see the whole film! Thanks for sharing!
Last time I watched GWTW I was 10 years old (24 years ago). Today I was looking for different scenes from the movie…and omg, I'm obsessed with Hattie!!!!!! I read that during those times, she only got maid roles but look at her!!! She is singing on this one!! I love love love her. She is truly talented and I'm glad she won an Oscar. I'm looking forward to watch some of her movies.
Original melrose place
Wow! Hattie McDaniel has some POWERFUL lungs!!!💋💄👠🕶♥️
Everyone in this is so talented & coordinated, mad respect for these actresses and actors
It’s my goal as a film student to make a film about Hattie and her glory!
That time when my grandma’s born, wow so different she was born on the 10th March in 1943

Hattie you were the Greatest!
Willie Best was good in"High Sierra"with BOOGIE.
RIP in Heaven, Hattie McDaniel. One of the few movies she's not playing mammy.
Doesn't Ice Cold Katie talk?
Nothing short of a phenomenal performance!!!
The preacher is familiar, too. Jess Lee Brooks who was the pastor in "Sullivan's Travels" did a killer version of "Go Down Moses."
Just PURE talent from EVERYONE!!!!!! I wonder are the children living who were in this scene…… is ANYONE living from the movie? Or there Heirs????? If so…. where are they??????
Hattie McDaniel was a Fabulous actress!!!!!!!
So almost everything came from us ,why racists existed I dont understand 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🇺🇸🇧🇷♥️♥️
I wonder what this would look like in color.
2020 recommendation? Yo! During WWII They said that US BLACKS WERE IN THE WAR! It has now come to my attention that we were in this movie! lmfaooo
Wonderful show
That gentleman playing the groom sure can act!!!
I love how everyone is black here…nice to see
Regardless of its context, her performance in Gone With the Wind was also undeniably fantastic. She got an Emmy for it and deserves the credit. I didn't realize she could sing!
They are so stunning to look at ! And they look just like us today.
Miss Hattie did that! I had no idea she could sing and dance!!!!
A classy woman who will always be remembered that she did everything in her own way. Will always be loved.
Nice film, but imagine if Black Americans could have show their true selves back then, instead of having to stretch their eyes 👀 in e every scene, n speak gibberish, oh what a musical that would’ve been!!!!!
Of course..they just HAD to have white men directing the production..while the blacks did their stereotypical thing on stage..
Where has this been all my life??
Talk about eye candy. My eyes got toothache! The energy, the 40's big band music, the direction, the performances-wow!
Amazing
