Fourth of seven “Michael Shayne” detective series. Mike ( Nolan ) goes undercover as a riveter to ferret out a ring stealing industrial grade diamonds. Soon the trail leads to Hawaii, aboard ship, Mike and Merle ( Hughes ) meet the suave,but shady Juan Arturo O’Hara ( Reeves ), and one of Mike’s old clients Helen Shaw ( Reynolds). Several attempts on Mike’s life make this a voyage to remember!

Heroine is good looking
This film is great. Now I need to see the sequel to this. Mary Beth Hughes (as usual) delivered a fine performance; she was such an effective actress.

When I was a kid Looyd Nolan was playing cranky old guys. I had no idea he could be as cool as he was in these movies.
Lloyd Nolan – a great character actor, loved his SF Bronxy accent, comedic timing, and light-hearted banter. He was my hero!
Maybe I'm wrong but the actress in the beginning, in the salon sounded an awful lot like "Grand Ma Mah" of the Addams Family.

So, so many unreal corny situations, I don't know why I keep watching these old movies. I guess maybe it's because there is no blood and guts, no nothing to do with the plot sex scenes … but most of all, the good guys always win …. AND, it's entertaining!!!!

Nostalgic, Thank you for showing these great movies. As a youngster growing up in the 1940s I seen a lot of these old movies but not the Lloyd Nolan Michael Shane ones.
One of my absolute favorite Lloyd Nolan films. An excellent, entertaining detective film. Wonderful picture quality!
