Looks like it was a joint production with both MGM and Dominion Films. Back when the border was easy to cross.
This is the attitudes that those growing up in the mid-20th Century were taught. Amazing how utterly stupid and ignorant an entire generation found themselves. It does repeat itself, however.
$9 per week would, based upon inflation, equal about $160 per week in today's money. And with two meals per day added – that's an Excellent price (except for the sharing of a room).
Undercover. . . That in it's title Telegraphs the scenario. How to become undercover but to do the old story of becoming "Branded" in public.
It's kinda lame – but for 1934, just a Very short time since Talkies even began – this is actually one of the best Action & Adventure movies of this era. It was a beginning of 1000s of Cop Shows and Movies for generations. THANKS TCM !!
i don't think the teller was a coward. why am i gonna shoot it out with bank-robbers and risk my life for someone's money? the old man who ran out to try and stop the bank-robbers was very brave but very stupid! gangsters will kill you no matter how old you are! besides, if the bank teller would've died trying to stop the robbers, the bank's not gonna take care of him or his family!..the bank teller did the right thing! the old fart who owns the bank and the townspeople are money-hungry & crazy!
this is a good old movie.
bad guys get it and good guy gets girl.
Had to laugh. The description of the car…… a black sedan. Now that is going to narrow the search in 1934.
I'm not sure what that 'Western" means in the titling label… 'Canadian" is a fact, but western this is NOT.
The Original Dudley Do-right.
The bank teller did the smart thing not to shoot since there was a gangster with a machine gun pointed at him and the lady customer close by. What was he supposed to do, open fire with his little pistol and risk his own life and the life of the woman? It's obvious he was outmatched as far as firearm power. The boss was just a greedy scoundrel.
Geez that dumb blonde! He didn't take a minute to press the alarm, it was 5 seconds! Why didn't he stand up & say that!!!
The female lead, Adrienne Dore, was 1st runner-up in the 1925 Miss America Pageant. If you believe her 1910 birthdate she had just turned 15 years old in the September 1925 pageant. Interestingly Miss America Pageant rule 7 stated `contestants must be of good health & of the white race`. That rule was abolished in 1950 when PC started.
