Comment 100. Barry Kelley fine as was Sammy white
Does anyone know who played o’brien’s hitman? I’ve seen him in tons of movies but can’t find him in the credits.
Ladies and gentlemen. The moral of this story is that gambling is dirty and evil. Except where sanctioned by State or Federal government such that they get their piece of the pie. Good night.
great Hoover Dam ending…..not quite up to Cagney's "Top of the World, Ma….!", but still very good.
A very good film but who else was cheering on Mal? Great performance by Edmond O’Brien who often played co-lead but he made some classics as the lead including DOA and Nineteen Eighty Four where he came to London.
sad ending
I like these old b/w movies and have seen Edmond O'Brian in a lot of them but this is the first time I've seen him play a hoodlum. Thanks for the upload.
Thx for the great movie. I was 1 year old in 1950, I missed this one at the drive-in theater ????
E.O. Was a phenomenal actor! Great movie!
E O B in a departure from his good guy roles playing a Ruthless Killer with no Remorse to the Hilt Great Job Mr.Edmond O'BRIEN ????????????
Thank you for posting all of these great old films. I just found your channel and subscribed. Cheers 🙂
This is a revelation for me. I only knew Edmond O'Brien movies when he was more of a gruff, tired older guy like in "The Wild Bunch", "The Last Voyage", or the episode of Mission:Impossible where he played a drug counterfeiter.
Excellent & informative movie.
Goin on 47 on the 20th and over the last couple years I've been watching 50s and 60s tv shows and movies. It makes me feel like it was when I was young. Reminiscing the olden days. I know 70s aren't really the oldies but I grew up watching 50 and 60s tv shows.
Whoa!
15:24 …..earbuds imagined 70 years ago ….look exactly like the ones people wear in 2022
Such a great actor. Good film
I've never seen a bad Edmond O'Brien movie..when I see his name I know that the film will well acted with a strong storyline.
This one is no exception. Good sharp b/w cinematography, strong story, and gorgeous Joann Dru too! A big thank you for posting!!

Got em by the short hairs. How did that git by the censors
Excellent film noir.
I knew Edmond was in trouble when he gave up a beauty like Dorothy Patrick and started barking at a dog like Joanne Dru. Edmond never made a bigger mistake in his life! Love all his films. Thanks for the upload! 🙂
My goodness I love love love all the movies that Edmond O'Brien plays in I mean he was the very best
Thank you so much for uploading this movie I love it ????????
Amazing how from a nice guy in the beginning of the of the movie helping out a friend in the telephone place to being pretty full of himself with a whole change of personality because of the good old dollar ???????????????? Paula x
The cars from those days until say mid 1970s were so stylish not like today's square tin things & I don't even like cars or drive ???????? Paula x
Edmond O'Brien was the greatest actor ever every one of his films were excellent you don't find good actors like that today
So illegal until the State started doing it. Then it magically became perfectly legal and bolstered through State paid advertising.
Same corrupt syndicate mobsters are still running California only the names have changed to Pelosi, Newsom, Garcetti, and on and on. Great movie!
Gizzi did a lot work for my father back in the day. Good man. Very reliable.
Typical American movie!!!!!over the top and not worth watching .
Great movie! I love ❤ movies with Edmond O'Brien in them! Love these old black and white movies!
If he only would have stayed working for the telephone company instead…
Now that's a real OG! He went out like a true gangster. No snitchin no jail for him. My type of man.
This certainly isn't a "B" movie, is it? First time for me. Great acting all around. Great camera work. Great dam scene. 10-7-21. St. Joseph, MO
