Burt Lancaster certainly was interesting looking, somehow I always though and his looks defied who he really was…. His looks, his voice, his body type and agility. His nose gives him away though… very interesting.
This is a gem. And kudos to the makers of the film, in cooperation with the government, on having a good sense of humor about it all.

“Why have you gone to all this trouble for this man?” He’s Father Christmas ???? Another great performance by the excellent English actor Edmund Gwenn with the start of a career for Burt Lancaster with Dorothy McGuire in her career hey day although I will always remember her in Swiss Family Robinson with Sir John Mills.

This was based on a true story. Skipper had a son & daughter, though not mentioned in the movie. I wonder how they felt when they found out about their father's counterfeiting. He made more money from the sale of the rights to his story than he ever did from counterfeiting.

I didn't expect it would be THAT good!!! All actors did a superb job too! I loved the movie and it's only one in a million times I say something like that!! I can easily put it in my Top 100 or even top 50 alltime favorite movies! I love when a movie is unique and in the same time, so perfectly executed, with such a great scenario and direction. Lancaster so young yet so good actor!!
