  1. Interesting to see the young Laurence Olivier and Ralph Richardson — and for the film colours which are as fresh as paint. But the farcical plot is rather tedious — strictly for easily pleased nostalgists.

  2. This was a charmingly funny movie, and I adored Laurence Olivia's performance. These great actors are all gone now, but they live on forever in their art, and they still entertain us for generations to come. ❤

  3. A must see well directed old film!
Many laughs with brilliant Stars-handsome young Laurence Olivier and a young beautiful Merle Oberon

  4. I don't think a more charming and beautiful woman has ever been captured on film being more charming and more beautiful as Merle Oberon is in this movie.

  5. I remember back in the late 1970’s before TCM, FXM and the original AMC when I used to see tabloid photos of Merle Oberon 🌹with Dutch actor Robert Wolders and wonder what Merle was famous for. Then one day I watched her as “Kitty” in The Lodger (1944) and became a fan of the beautiful actress who could excel in both drama and especially comedy! 🌹⭐️🌹

  6. As mankind is being terrorized in the interest of "universal health" I sometimes find solace in this kind of civilized, uplifting filmography of our not that far past. A sweet and real masterpiece with great actors. Thank you for sharing it with the world. Blessings to all.
