Wow! What a crazy, fun & interesting show! No wonder Sir Laurence had such an ama, ingredient career!
Wow! The british doing screwball comedy. Great screenplay, love the supporting characters. Sir L.O. and M.O. are brilliant.
Interesting to see the young Laurence Olivier and Ralph Richardson β and for the film colours which are as fresh as paint. But the farcical plot is rather tedious β strictly for easily pleased nostalgists.
This was a charmingly funny movie, and I adored Laurence Olivia's performance. These great actors are all gone now, but they live on forever in their art, and they still entertain us for generations to come. β€
Great colored movie absolutely gorgeous young Laurence Olivier.
Loved this movie for years, lost count how many times I've watched it, and it still makes me laugh.
The attitude of draconian males needs massive adjustments.

Such a clever and charming little film.
It's almost distracting how handsome Laurence Olivier is in this film..!
On another subject, I liked my eggs SOFT BOILED.
Excellent colour, lovely pastel tones, no teal/orange OD.
Was she Asian? π

Would look much better in black and white
I enjoyed the movie, but Oliver's character left me flat forgiving her for her deceit. I was amazed by the color quality of this old gem.
Great flick!
Movies are the most entertaining kinds of anthropology!
I've seen this movie least a dozen times. It's one of my favorite Alexander Korda films.
I canβt wait to be divorced.
So strange to see this in color.
in color ? wonderful thank you
This must be the most annoying story and the most annoying female character. I could only go on watching because of Laurence Olivier.
Sorry, but it bored me.
Very nice movie, made my day!
OMG what a treat. I never thought I would see Sir Lawrence Olivier so young. Terribly cute!
A must see well directed old film!
Many laughs with brilliant Stars-handsome young Laurence Olivier and a young beautiful Merle Oberon
She hid her Indian ancestry
I don't think a more charming and beautiful woman has ever been captured on film being more charming and more beautiful as Merle Oberon is in this movie.
in essense, it`s just another patriarchal piece of boredom.
but the actors are good, as so is the music :).
Those buses in the opening scene in Piccadilly Circus looked very empty! Maybe people didn't feel confident riding them in the pea-souper fogs! π
why I can't have from Theo phone to tv any program.
why I can
Lawrence Olivier and Merle Oberon, the best Heathcliff and Cathy that ever was β€
Thank you!
Merle oberon would have been the ONLY other SCARLETT O'HARA from gone with the wind next to vivien leigh….
Love this film. A cute, Romantic comedy…..Also love Wuthering heights from the following year! πβΊπ
How enchanting. I love this movie.
So glad I discovered it. Ewan McGregor looks like a young Lawrence.
Don't like the colors in this movie…looks fake. It would be better in Black and White.
ralf richardson is the father of natasha richardson the wife of liam neeson
What a great film!!!!
I remember back in the late 1970βs before TCM, FXM and the original AMC when I used to see tabloid photos of Merle Oberon πΉwith Dutch actor Robert Wolders and wonder what Merle was famous for. Then one day I watched her as βKittyβ in The Lodger (1944) and became a fan of the beautiful actress who could excel in both drama and especially comedy! πΉβοΈπΉ

Beautiful technicolour. I am amazed at the quality of this film. So old yet so vivid. It is like viewing a series of colourful paintings.
As mankind is being terrorized in the interest of "universal health" I sometimes find solace in this kind of civilized, uplifting filmography of our not that far past. A sweet and real masterpiece with great actors. Thank you for sharing it with the world. Blessings to all.
