  1. Thank you for posting this grand old movie.
Haley Mills oh had a crush on her
Horst Buchholz was a good actor and handsome. Sad not many movies was he in.
I think he was in a movie with Jimmy Cagney who was I think a Coke executive and Horst marries Jimmy's daughter but Horst was a Commie.
That was a funny movie. Dang it cannot remember the name.

  2. in my saddened eyes and on that boat, poor Gilly turned from being a pure and perfect child into a selfish brat. We,re all disappointingly human after all ..

  3. Haley mills what can I say.The best acting I have ever seen in any film,so real. They should give Oscars to children because she deserves one 😊❤

  4. In the end Hayley Mills earned next to nothing from this. Badly advised, she ended up with the Labour government taking nearly all of it off her.

  5. Interesting film showing the poverty in England 14 years after the end of WW2.
Big plot failure was how did the villain know where the wedding church was when the child 'ran' to it from her home flat.

  6. I had always heard how very good Hayley Mills was in Tiger Bay, but had never seen the film until now. I am now trying to catch up on as many films as possible, thanks to YouTube. The Mills family lived near us in Richmond, and we saw a few of her Walt Disney films as we are contemporaries. I'm very much looking forward to seeking out the rest.

  7. Well, England still sentenced murder by hanging until 1964.
And Hayley starred in MANY films, even as a child, in spite of commenters who sentenced her to disney alone.

  8. Much as I like John Mills, this basic plot was done better 7 years before in "Hunted" with Dirk Bogarde. In it, a small boy ends up with a man running from the law. Silly as it seems, my young friends and I didn't like Haley because of her white eyelashes-lol. Hey- we were little…

  9. i remember these days as a kid .dear God hasn't the world changed /kids would use their imagination and play now they sit in front of i pones and big tv screens getting fatter and fatter /we lost something precious with all the technology don't you think ? 2023 and people don't look at the sky anymore engrossed in their mobiles/great film thankyou x
