  1. ❀I love this item and that Mitty lives in Perth Amboy, New Jersey. During my childhood (and later) our house got a good view of that town. There used to be a ferry thither form Tottenville, Staten Island and we’d board it to cross the Arthur Kill to shop, visit doctors, and go to the movies. The building of the Verrazano Bridge killed that, and killed a whole way of life shown in the movie. Ta pockata ta pockata.❀

  2. I miss the movies on DVD that Netflix Online offered through the mail. The selection was enormous, going back decades, with details about each movie. You'd pay a monthly rate, create a long list of titles, and select the DVDs to be mailed to you as often as you return one, changing your order of preference if you like. I wish another company would do the same. Some of the greatest movies are old, the classics!

  3. An enjoyable silly farce from back in the heyday of Hollywood. Danny Kaye is at his usual best. Set design, costume, music, etc. is as one would expect in a Samuel Goldwynne production. For some this will be just too silly, but it's just a lot of fun.

  4. Amazingly, this was James Thurber's first short story and it's a masterpiece. Published in 1939 and released as this film in 1947, the year I was born .

  5. Thank Goodness! I enjoyed the newer version but for the life of me I couldn’t understand what the newer version had anything to do with the short story I had read. Now I get it. The newer version just makes Walter Mitty’s dreams be a reality.
