“Seven Sinners” is a 1936 British thriller film directed by Albert de Courville and starring Edmund Lowe, Constance Cummings and Felix Aylmer. An American detective and his sidekick are called to Britain to take on a gang of international criminals.

Directed by Albert de Courville, written by Sidney Gilliat, Frank Launder, Austin Melford (additional dialogue), Bernard Merivale (story), L. du Garde Peach (adaptation as DuGarde Peach) and Arnold Ridley (story), starring Edmund Lowe, Constance Cummings and Thomy Bourdelle.

Charming film and so far ahead of its time, depicting "charity organizations" that are fronts or public relations decoys for insane criminals and dirty cops who are up to their ears in all sorts of insidious crime.  Back then, I suspect it was rare.  Now, the criminal elites and their army of thugs with badges have a complete monopoly on organized crime. Today, if you tried to expose these criminals, you'd need a miracle to find anyone in a position of governmental or law enforcement authority whose hands aren't dirty.
