  1. Guilty until proven innocent premise better done in Fonda's, "The Wrong Man" the same year. Low budget production but doesn't look the part. Bromfield on a career roll with "Hot Cars" releasing near the end of '56 and successful TV show in '58. ZORRO's Sgt. Garcia a taxi driver. Entire careers throttled by a family's sleep walking disgrace. Thanks for posting!

  2. I like Joe's 'amusing drunk'. Usually drunks were seriously over-acted in these things but a good script helps him and he pulls it off.
1:01:28 "Sargeant my daughter has gone. I don't see that her motives for going have any significance" "Is there a man involved)" "Certainly not! As a matter of fact she did happen to phane a man" Just how stupid is this cop? The only one in need of 'professional help' is Christi's father – everyone else seems pretty normal to me.

  3. I played the credits over expecting to find Jonathan Winter's name. Damn! Same looks, voice, smile, mannerisms. Really surprised it was someone else.

  4. Thank you for this one Ms. Allison.  Mr. Bromfield looks like a cross between Rod, Taylor,  Tom Selleck and Stuart Whitman – with creds like those, how can he go wrong?

  5. A neat movie…not the best noir, but fun to watch. Nobody's mentioned the beautiful Julie London, one of the prettiest actresses of the 1950's and early 1960's. It was great to see her in this film.

  6. I had no idea Julie London was an actress – only knew her as a great singer. She is no worse than the rest of the cast in this B movie – scrumptious eye candy in a severe kind of way.that reminds me of Julie Christie's chiseled looks. I wonder if she ever appeared in a really good film? Hollywood has produced so much dross, didn't it?

  7. Never heard of John Bromfield-he was before my time. Seems the manly type was kinda out of style. This guy is a gorgeous- the type of the 40s-50s guys whose films I enjoy on TV or on line–the Cooper or Heston types. And he acts like the Garfield type. Too bad his type is not around anymore. Instead we get the weasles , so forgettable I can't remember their names.

  8. why is UTUBE ALWAYS deleting my stuff– is there a grudge against me or something-or am I too literate for you? Some people curse and say horrid things and they are never deleted–but each time I post, most of what I post is deleted. WHY? Maybe I should just ignore UTUBE.
