Not a bad old B picture
Wiki has a good history on "B movie".
Thank you for sharing 😃
I love film noir, I was born to late!
How did they get this past the censors?
Too bad the acting is so bad, the dancing and costumes are wonderful. And so if the story.
Michio Ito's choreography was the best thing about this film!! Sally Rand, dancer par excellence, of course. Henry King & Orchestra, tops. Mr Reed Hadley in tow too lol. The stage costumes for the dances were spectacular. But after a while I just couldn't watch anymore……..

it got past the censors because in 1938 there were no censors. only later when the America got tight assed did we have them. England never was as tight assed as Americans
had a great time watching this movie. the best scene was the guacamole in the face. LMAO
What happened to women in the 30's & 40's like they were so beautiful, soft, sweet,, compared to females now?
little or no parenting, demoralized society, and corrupt government led to the ways of today…
The reporter, Holton was quite a 'Hunk'…"Gee…Ollie, watch'a Holding in this strip-club..?" LOL..
Gee..That's ARTE:…a Half-naked Lady, swinging a giant 'hooter' around by its 'nipple'….take that PBS!
Haaa…"Hey..Ollie…I spy a nipple, through the fern leaf…"around 24:00…guys….
What the Fuck did I just watch? Geez……….the comments below are more entertaining than the film! LOL!!!!
Amazing. In the middle of a B film, an A plus dance sequence beautifully filmed. Thanks.
Victoria Rose, the soft, sweet, demure behavior is a put-up job. It's just an act.
"Put up job" lol
Note that the dance sequence begins at 20:39, with a parade of tableaux vivant damselles. Sally, screened by her feathers and ferns, enters at 22.31. Sally was famous for the remark: "I haven't been out of work since I took off my pants…"
Thanks for uploading this, movie. I did enjoy it, but could you,
( But. In. The Future )
Could You Please
Raise The Volume of certain
movies that are to low,
to hear. Now I know when this,
movie was made it was in,
(. MONO. NOT. STEREO. )
