Great film. Never heard of Edna May Oliver, but now I have to look up more movies with her in them. She played her character perfectly.

John, the quality of this video is excellent! I tried to watch this movie a couple years ago on YouTube but it was blurred and in parts. Murder on the Blackboard is the second Hildegard Withers movie with Edna May Oliver & James Gleason. Can you perhaps post that one? Thanks.
Can anyone, please,name the other films in this series?. I believe Gleeson also starred solo in one or two stories as "Inspector" before meeting the indomitable Hildegard in this film. Lights shining here to help, people, please?

Edna may oliver was a gem.you can't help but like her in everything she's been in.same could be said about james Gleason where would the movie industry be without such great character actors ? Sadly to often we know there work but not there names something ,somehow should be done about that, I'd like to see a movie with the full cast of character actors so we could sit there and say I like everybody in this movie but I can't name one of them isn't that a sad thought?
The comical repertoire between the Inspector and the school teacher is priceless!!!
Edna May Oliver is Darcy's Aunt in the 40's production of Pride and Prejudice with Greer Garson, and Laurence Olivier. She is worth watching in the awful Hollywood production ofJane Austin's classic novel……
