CHICAGO SYNDICATE” (The Plot) – Kicks off with a murder of a mob accountant who gives inside information to a newspaper man. The syndicate doesn’t like the score. The newspaper man tries to get some leading Chicago people plus lawmen together to try to break the Syndicate wide open. They persuade Barry Amsterdam (Dennis O’Keefe), an aspiring accountant dreaming of starting his business to infiltrate the mob and get the lowdown on the crooks. He ends up doing a great job for an accountant! But the mob still has their eyes on him. Great classic street scenes in this crime-noir-drama.film.

The sight of a coffin makes him freeze during a bank job, causing his lieutenant to lose his arm. Finally, the gang kidnaps a little girl along with her nurse and hold them for ransom.
